So, you want a super massivo decaf low-fat stupido motherfuck cappu-fucking-ccino?

Some mega P funk disco to send you off into the bank holiday weekend with; Doc Severinsen's 'I Wanna Be With You' receives a loving rework from perennial edit favorite Leftside Wobble. You can grab the Wav over at the Soundcloud page, it's been made available for download in celebration of the fact that Mr Wobble recently passed 400,000 plays on Soundcloud (This seems to be the new way of measuring musical success, plays rather than sales).
Either way it's a belter:

93 Million Miles..

The new Africa Hitech long player came out last week on Warp Records and guess what? It's most splendid.

The collaboration between Mark Pritchard (Harmonic 313) and Steve Spacek (Err Spacek) continues the duo's exploration into the music and culture of the great continent;

"Africa Hitech have described themselves as being about an 'ism', an African connection between rhythm and machine"

Check the future bass stylings of 'Cyclic Sun', which also has more than a whiff of jazz flute about it. Pick the album up here.

I am the hummus of knowledge. And you are the breadstick to dip..

Teengirl Fantasy's recent single 'Cheaters' has been given a superb rework by Washington DC's finest Beautiful Swimmers; They apply a slow-mo balearic touch in their own exquisite style. Remix of the year already? Buy it here.

Castlemania

Flying in the face of the seemingly popular consensus that Rock & Roll is in terminal decline are San Fran's finest Thee Oh Sees. They have their 12th long player 'Castlemania' ready to drop on In the Red records; It's certainly their most poppy release to date as the usual layers of psychedelic noise give way to a more relaxed approach. Perfect for the impending heatwave. Get 'Castlemania' here.

Disco Discharge: Mondo Disco

Been meaning to post something from the excellent "Disco Discharge: Mondo Disco" compilation for a while now. It's a marvelous double disc(o) collection that features the likes of Boney M, Supermax, Cerrone, Voyage and many more. It's available at an extremely reasonable price over at Play.

That was my Vietnam - and I was in Vietnam..

Trentemoller guested on the NYC institution that is Beats in Space last week, it featured lots of exclusive little edits by the likes of Nick Cave, Crash Course in Science and Bruce Springsteen from the man himself. Also included was his remix of Chimes & Bells that's a slow, psychedelic gem with a bass line that has more than a whiff of Suicide's 'Ghost Rider' about it. Have a listen to the mix here.

Eye Contact

If you don't like the new Gang Gang Dance record 'Eye Contact' there is something wrong with you. I suggest you do the following;

Go and have a long, hard look at yourself in the mirror.

Rip off your ears because they are obviously not working properly*

Give yourself a damn good talking too (and try and find some new ears)

'Eye Contact' is out this week, check the mega future R&Bz jam that is 'Romance Layers'

Gang Gang Dance- Romance Layers

*Only joking about the ears thing, but seriously check this record. It's reet good.

Come on up here you sick bastard..

Kreidler recently celebrated their 17th year in the music making business by releasing their umpteenth long player 'Tank' in March of this year; It just may be their most accessible record to date:

'The band’s Krautrock worship is still evident throughout, but this is punctuated by nods towards Italian horror soundtrack proggers Goblin, and even more interestingly the abstract disco of Neu! ‘1975

Get yourself a copy of 'Tank' over at Boomkat.

Get your prostate checked by a doctor, not some guy you met on the internet..

An epic psychedelic jam to kick the week off with, Woodsman's second long player 'Rare Forms' came out at the start of 2011 on Fire Talk records. Album opener 'Insects' has the kind of nagging riff that will embed itself in your grey matter for days. Pick up the album here.

Just go splash water on your face and man up. We're your mother now..

Absolute peach of a tune for you lot today; One of my fave producers at the Moment is Brassica, he takes Gareth Cheshire's 'Galaxia' and turns in a heroic rework, full of discordant gameboys and dayglo synthesis. Bloody marvelous. Check the full EP on Audio Parallax.

A minute ago they were babies, and now their driving, and soon we'll all be dead..

Lots of good new music to share with you, starting with this superb rework of Nina's 'Feeling Good' from Hrdvsion; A languid, discoid version that will be a hit with many a DJ all summer long.

Two of my favorite people tied the knot over the weekend, I had the massive honor of performing best man and disc jockey duties. The DJ set was without doubt the most fun I've had behind the turntables. Finished off with the Beasties 'Sabotage', which in the cold light of day doesn't seem like the most wedding-y of tracks, but at the time it made perfect sense.
All in all a fantastic day. Big love Mona & Gareth.
