Any message for him? Tell him I'm going to break his neck..

Architeq has one final offering to share with you this year; The 'Into The Cosmos' EP is out now and features (quite obviously) the title track with some fine reworks from Dan Lissvik & Mr Beatnick. It's the Lissvik rework that we feature here, a low slung P Funk blast of excellence. Get it.

There have been some choice remixes of Detroit techno luminary Anthony 'Shake' Shakir's 'Frictionalism' LP. The most recent come courtesy of Falty DL & The Space Dimension Controller, both are worthy of your attention but it's the later who we feature here. Languid techno of the highest order, get the full release at Boomkat.

Cos when it comes to rocking something fierce - Mmm do I

I've been banging on about last week's magnificent Chilly show to anyone who'll let me; Now here's a chance to get a little taste in the shape of his 5 minute minimix for Annie Mac's radio show. Contains (nearly) every song ever recorded:

If your looking for a fine album that will fill a void in the darkwave/softcore section of your record collection, have a gander at The Soft Moon. Their debut release is out this week and it's a swirling mass of reverberation and motorik. I wonder if they thought of calling themselves Bauhaus Division when choosing a band name? Pick the record up here.

I'm the Tits McGee of Rap..

A couple of choice reissues for your perusal; Ruth's 'Polaroid/Roman/Photo' recently resurfaced as part of the 80's synthwave/dark pop revival. The record only sold 50 copies when first released in 1985, it's now become a rare collectors item and will set you back over 300 notes. The Angular Recording Corporation have done us all a favour and given the record a much needed reissue. Pick it up at Boomkat.

The Light in the Attic label are also doing a fine job in unearthing long lost treasures; Jim Sullivan's 'UFO' has just been released for the first time digitally:

"Adding to the mystique surrounding this lost gem, Sullivan himself disappeared without trace in 1975, with only an abandoned Volkswagen Beetle and emptied out motel room to offer leads as to his still unknown whereabouts. Sullivan's biography seems to paint him as a nearly-man, hanging out with stars on the West Coast and even snagging himself a cameo in Easy Rider along the way"

This was the first of two records Sullivan released in his short career, the man himself hasn't been seen or heard from in 35 years. Maybe he'll walk into a record shop and see his album on the wall.....

From this moment on, you’re no longer little kids. You’re cold, calculated murderers..

We have certainly been blessed with live entertainment this week in the kingdom of Mancunia. You could have seen the likes of LCD Soundsystem, Shit Robot, Hot Chip, Gold Panda, The Phantom Band, Holy Fuck & Buck 65 all plying their trade. I was lucky enough to be at Chilli Gonzales's show on Monday night, it was a virtuoso performance from an outstanding entertainer. Part musician part stand up comedian. He kicked off proceedings with an epic version of 'Overnight'. He finished off with a mind-boggling melody of Oasis, The Eagles, Survivor and The Clash. Go see Ivory Tower as soon as you can.

Next up for me is some more Canadians in the shape of Holy Fuck & Buck 65. Always a treat when these fellas perform. From their latest LP here's HF with the kraut rocking 'Silva & Grimes'.

Stay in school. Fight the power. And don’t do drugs..

The much vaunted new Brian Eno album is finally amongst us; 'Small Craft On a Milk Sea' is out this week on Warp Records, it's been produced with the help of Jon Hopkins & Leo Abrahams (Formerly Colonel). The record see's Eno's trademark delicate ambience married together with a tougher, louder, more dance floor orientated sound. Expect a raft of edits to proceed. From it here is '2 Forms Of Anger'

And here's some classic Eno from the splendid 'Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks' LP.

I had no choice when it came to being great – I just am great..

A couple of tardy, disco-infected tunes to entertain your ears; from a couple of years back here's an indomitable groove from Steve Kotey & Max Essa. '1998' is part of the exceptional 'Salon De L'Herbe' EP. Pick it up at Juno.

Eddie C's 'Wonderful Dub' amps down the tempo still further; 80 BPM is the order of the day, the rest of the EP ain't half bad either. Pick it up here.

Whenever I look at a Mexican I will think of you. Whenever you look at that jackass you think of me, okay?

From time to time my computer will spit out a song that I've never heard before; Case in point being this noisy drone from the Silver Pines. You can get their LP 'Forces' from the excellent Light Lodge label.

The Limiñanas have a self titled debut ready to share, you will undoubtedly hear traces of Stereolab, Gainsbourg and the Velvets in their scuzzy freakouts. Pick up the record here.

The second series of the marvelous Eastbound and Down came to a splendid conclusion on Sunday. Watch it if you are not already acquainted. The closing scenes were segued with this very apt little ditty from Kurt Vile.

Those are my principles. If you don't like them I have others..

Superlatives are often bandied around willfully these days (Sometimes on these very pages). Today's brace of tunes deserve every plaudit going.
First up is the wondrous Jacky Chalard; Their 1974 LP 'Je Suis Vivant, Mais J'ai Peur De Gilbert Deflez' has recently reissued by the ever vigilant Finders Keepers label:

"Once again delving deep into their archive of obscurities and long forgotten rediscoveries, Finders Keepers present this 1974 collaboration between French prog-pop star Jacky Chalard (and his group, Dynastie Crisis) with science fiction writer/voice actor, Gilbert Deflez. This album is like a psychedelic radio play, setting incredible French rock music backdrops against spoken passages."

From it here is 'Superman Supercool'. Buy the record here.

On a similar tip is this beauty from Ariel Kalma, it features on a superb collection from a couple of years back; "Space Oddities: A Compilation of Rare European Library Grooves" does pretty much what it says on the tin. 'Danse Soeur' has an early Kraftwerk vibe, and is all the better for it. You can pick up the record here.

I have had a perfectly wonderful evening, but this wasn't it..

A couple of crackers from a couple of our favourite people: Those nice DFA chaps recently made Banjo Or Freakout's cover of NDF's 'Since We Last Met' available for nish. It's a gorgeous remake full of reflective reverb. You can pick up the original here.

Tame Impala's 'Lucidity' gets a smart rework from one of our most cherished Parisian's, Pilooski. He slaps on 'My Sharona' drums and adeptly amps up the psych.
