When a DJ of Ivan Smagghe's stature leaves a 150 word reaction waxing lyrical about a record (Geoffroy Aka Mugwump's 'Congregation of Discarded Clerks') you know it’s gonna be something a little bit special:

"There is a very very special kind of great records. rare as hell. they're the ones that you have in your box but that blow your mind when someone more clever than you are plays it at the right moment. that's exactly what "Congregation of Discarded Clerks" did for me. I had it for ages, Michael Mayer played it and I rushed like an idiot to ask him what this bomb was... This is a big compliment for the record (who likes obvious hits ? not me) and a kick in the arse for myself, especially that it exactly fits into what I love : old school gone now, disco gone trance, fearless of a hint of cheese, slow and funky as fuck. In one word: brilliant."

Also brilliant is the flip side 'Concrete Skankin', a 3am face melter. Essential purchase.

Onra's new 'Long Distance' LP is loads of fun:

"What sets this aside from many others jamming in this field is an intensely scrutinised attention to detail, creating crystalline early 80s environments with a slight psychedelic element, like hearing George Benson or Cameo reflected from a pair of heat warped speakers on Miami beach"

Ideal Jeep cruising material: From it here's the short but very sweet 'Rock On':

You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on..

If you have psychedelic tendencies, you should be all over Tame Impala's debut long player. 'Innerspeaker' is out now on Modular Recordings:

"Tame Impala make psychedelic hypno-groove melodic rock music. It's intended for moving one's body to, and it's intended for keeping still and observing other forms of movement. It's bombastic but it's swirling, think of the shoulder bones of a giant striding feline creature through some kind of tunnel. If Tame Impala's music reminds you of what you'd want to put on when you next visit your mind's engine room then they're happy. If not, whatever, it's just music. Put it on when the sun next shines. Basically it's all about the feeling.."

Keep an eye on the website for upcoming tour dates (hurry up & play the UK please), you will also find some mixtapes complied by each band member.
