They are preparing to release a full length record in the new year and they also have a load of your dates planned stateside. Go see them you lucky yanks.

It was the eggrolls, not the ecstasy..

2 years after first being reported, the remixes for LCD Soundsystem's '45:33' have seen the light of day. If they ever fancied making a film out of the story of the 45:33 remixes, they could base a large part of it on the plot of the Usual Suspects:

"They became a myth, a spook story that DJ's tell their kids at night:

Pop: The LCD Soundsystem 45:33 remixes? They don't exist..

Son: But I've seen the Theo Parrish remix on a playlist..

Pop: It's a myth, a tall tale: The 45:33 remixes DON'T exist..

And nobody really ever believes (That they'll ever come out)"

So do they live up to the hype after a two year wait? Of course not. Kudos go to Prins Thomas, Theo Parrish & Padded Cell, you can get the remixes on 4 12''s or on CD from Boomkat.

BIS a couple of weeks back featured a memorable blend from Maft Sai, a very smart chap who has overseen the release of a couple of excellent Thai Funk compilations. His mix focused on the roots of Thai Funk, Luk Thung Music and Molam Music. He kicked things off with this electroid cover of 'Give It Up Or Turn It Loose' from Dick Hyman's LP 'The Age of Electronicus', it's well worth tracking down this album of far out electronic reworkings.

Q:Do you feel it was like a JFK moment when the news had been announced?

A:It’s huge, like Michael Jackson dying..

Think that may be my favourite Q&A ever. I personally think it's bigger than the dawning of time, It's a wonder that the planet is still on it's axis..
