I've been getting acquainted with an absorbing collection of outlandish cover versions from Fractured Recordings- 'Recovery' features 20 artists who have each been asked to cover a song from the 70's, 80's & 90's that is particularly significant to them. It includes contributions from Mika Vainio, Matmos and Zoviet France amongst many others. Tracks tackled include 'Planet Rock', 'Heart & Soul' and 'Billie Jean'. Here's a couple of tunes from the compilation; A quite astounding version of 'Warm Leatherette' and a drone version of 'My Sharona'. Your ears are not deceiving you.

I like your tune as well, some of the sounds remind me a bit of Underworld (in a good way, obviously). There was me thinking you were just a nerd but it turns out you're actually a full-on geek.
Red Riding was fucking great wasn't it? The other two are pretty good as well.
Brilliant performances all round but Sean Harris (who played Ian Curtis in 24 Hour Party People)really impressed me - absolutely terrifying.

I was actually thinking of making my own badge for the night. Couldn't decide whether to have Smith3000, expletive undeleted or something that was an undeleted expletive, like 'Cock!', 'Cunt!' or maybe just 'Fuck!' .. I think I prefer the last one because it might be construed as an instruction. The other two would probably give people the wrong impression.
I probably shouldn't drink lager on Friday afternoons.
